BAYERN POWERS PAST CHELSEA 3-1 – England striker Harry Kane scores twice and Michael Olise shines
Bayern Munich got their Champions League campaign off to a flying start, beating Chelsea 3–1 in Germany on Wednesday.
England captain Harry Kane was the star, scoring twice — once from the penalty spot in the 27th minute, and again with a cool finish midway through the second half.
Chelsea had fallen behind to an own goal from Trevoh Chalobah before Cole Palmer briefly pulled one back. But Bayern’s relentless pressure — capped by Kane’s second strike — proved too much.
The victory extends Bayern’s remarkable record of winning their Champions League opener for the 22nd year in a row. For Chelsea, it’s their first defeat of the season.
