RECOGNIZING PALESTINE WOULD REWARD HAMAS- Says Trump in his address to the U.N Assembly
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the recognition of a Palestinian state would be too great a reward for Hamas, repeating his call for the release of hostages – dead or alive – still held by the militant group in Gaza.
Trump called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, stating in a speech at the United Nations that those who supported peace should united in demanding the release of the hostages.
“As if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body is seeking to unilaterally recognize the Palestinian state. The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists, for their atrocities,” he said.
Some world leaders gathered at the United Nations have recognized a Palestinian state, after nearly two years of war that faces fierce resistance from Israel and its close ally the United States.
