PM REJECTS CALLS TO STEP ASIDE – PM vows to stay on as questions over leadership continue
Prime Minister Keir Starmer has insisted he will not step down, declaring that his critics have been “wrong every time” as speculation over his leadership continues.
Speaking on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France, Starmer dismissed calls for him to quit and reiterated his commitment to leading the country through ongoing economic and security challenges.
The Prime Minister also welcomed efforts to end the conflict between the United States and Iran, saying Britain would play its “full part” in supporting the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy supplies.
Asked about the recent guilty verdicts linked to arson attacks on properties connected to him, Starmer said he was pleased justice had been served and thanked law enforcement agencies for their work.
