TRUMP WARNS HAMAS TO HONOUR CEASEFIRE – Trump warns of possible U.S. action if Hamas violates Gaza ceasefire amid ongoing hostage returns
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Hamas, saying further U.S.-backed intervention could be necessary if the group fails to uphold its ceasefire commitments in Gaza.
Speaking on Thursday, Trump said the U.S. is closely monitoring Hamas’s compliance.
Trump also confirmed that Hamas has returned additional bodies of Israeli hostages as part of the ongoing U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal.
In a statement, Hamas said the return process may take time, explaining that several hostages were buried in tunnels destroyed by Israeli strikes, while others remain under rubble from bombardments.
The group reiterated its commitment to the Gaza agreement, saying it is eager to hand over all remaining bodies but lacks access to heavy machinery and rescue tools, which it claims are restricted by Israel’s blockade.
The latest developments come amid growing tension in the fragile truce, with Washington urging both sides to honour their obligations under the deal aimed at ending the two-year conflict.
Diplomatic sources indicate that the U.S. and its regional partners are closely monitoring the situation, prepared to respond if the ceasefire begins to unravel.
