“Be alert spiritually for your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour” – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The November Global Communion Service with Pastor Chris was one to savor as the man of God declared that the month of November is set aside for ‘Watching and Praying’. “Be alert spiritually for your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour,” he admonished, positing that God’s wisdom is at work in His children, therefore, no one will fall prey to the Devil as we watch and pray.. Primark owner Associated British Foods has set out ambitious expansion plans as it bets on a strong sales rebound from the Covid-19 pandemic, with customers returning in large numbers in countries where vaccines have been rolled out. The fast fashion retailer is planning to open more than 100 new shops over the next five years, as it pushes into the US, France, Italy and Spain. It would take the number of stores worldwide to 530 from 398 at present. In the US, where Primark opened its first store in Boston six years ago, it plans to go from 13 to 60 outlets over the…
Frank Lampard held talks with Norwich City on Monday as the club’s search for a new manager goes on. The former Chelsea manager is one of three candidates being considered by the promoted side and no decision on a frontrunner has been taken. The 43-year-old has been out of a job since January 2021, having endured a run of two wins in eight Premier League games. In his only full season in charge of Chelsea, he guided them to fourth and reached the FA Cup final. Lampard is yet to decide whether Norwich is the right move for him and Monday’s…
The UK justice secretary, Dominic Raab, has defended the MP and former attorney general Geoffrey Cox for working for a month in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) during lockdown. Earlier this year, Cox earned more than £150,000 in his second job as a lawyer advising the Caribbean tax haven in relation to corruption charges brought by the Foreign Office. Raab, who was foreign secretary at the time, said Cox was legitimately working as long as the job was properly declared. Speaking to Times Radio, he said: “I’m not going to get dragged into what individual MPs do, but having the former attorney general…
The effectiveness of the three COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States has declined in recent months, with protection against infection falling under 50 percent for two of them after six months, according to a new study. Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine dropped to 58 percent in September from 89.2 percent effectiveness in March, researchers found. During the same time frame, Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine fell to 43.3 percent from 86.9 percent, and Johnson & Johnson’s shot declined to 13.1 percent from 86.4 percent. Dr. Stephen Hahn, head of the Food and Drug Administration during the final portion of the Trump administration, said last year that the…
The prospect of a trade war between the UK and the EU has edged closer, with Ireland giving the clearest hint yet that Brussels plans to suspend the entire trade deal struck last December if the British government suspends the Northern Ireland Brexit protocol. The Irish foreign minister, Simon Coveney, accused the UK of “deliberately forcing a breakdown” in negotiations over Northern Ireland, adding that there was still time to step back from the brink. “The trade and cooperation agreement that was agreed between the British government and the EU was contingent on the implementation of the withdrawal agreement, which includes the protocol.…

The scenes at the final whistle said it all. An explosion of noise from most of those in attendance while, in front of them, those in claret and blue celebrated and sighed in relief in equal measure. It had been that sort of game for West Ham – tough, challenging, nerve-racking but ultimately glorious. Little wonder David Moyes took his time departing down the tunnel, the Scot milking the applause and rightly so, for this is a manager reborn in charge of a team that continues to soar. Indeed, this was not only West Ham’s first league victory over Liverpool since January…
Alleged problems with a major clinical trial examining Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine are being probed, a contract company involved in the research has confirmed. Ventavia Research Group operated several of the trial sites in the fall of 2020. Brook Jackson, who worked for the company during this time, told the British Medical Journal that the trial was riddled with issues, including the falsification of data. Jackson said she alerted the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to the problems she witnessed and was fired within hours. Ventavia confirmed to The Epoch Times that it employed Jackson for two weeks last year. Lauren Foreman, director of business…
A federal appeals court on Saturday blocked the Biden administration’s private employer COVID-19 vaccine mandate, asserting there may be constitutional issues with the requirement. “Because the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory and constitutional issues with the mandate, the mandate is hereby STAYED pending further action by this court,” a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit said in the brief order. The halt of the mandate, which was unveiled this week, is temporary as the case moves forward. The case was brought by multiple businesses, including the American Family Association; multiple individuals; and several states,…
