2 Peter 3:18 ”But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever”. Amen. WHAT IS GRACE? Grace is the divine influence on the heart of a man and it is reflected or expressed outwardly. In other words, it is the out-working of a divine inward influence in your heart through God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. Grace is the glory of God working in a man’s spirit. The Greek word for grace is ‘Charis’. It beautifies the spirit and would always show on the outside. Grace functions…
Aston Villa have sacked manager Roberto Di Matteo after just one win from their opening 12 matches this season. Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Preston left Villa 19th in the Championship despite a summer of spending under new owner Tony Xia following relegation. Di Matteo was brought in as the permanent successor to Remi Garde, but the Italian’s reign is over after just four months. Steve Clarke will take charge until a new manager is appointed. A club statement read: “Aston Villa Football Club has today parted company with manager Roberto Di Matteo. “The Club decided to act following a run of…
Chancellor Philip Hammond is to say he will manage the public finances in a different way to his predecessor, George Osborne. Speaking at the Conservative Party conference, Mr Hammond will promise “a new plan for the new circumstances Britain faces” after the Brexit vote. He will say his “pragmatic” approach allows greater scope for investment to boost the economy. This will include extra borrowing of £2bn to speed up housing construction. Leaving the European Union dominated day one of the conference, with Theresa May pledging to trigger Brexit by the end of March. The economy takes centre stage on Monday…
The industrial action will see staff mount picket lines – but Virgin Trains says it will run a “normal and safe timetable”. A 24-hour strike on Virgin Trains East Coast is going ahead today after talks failed to resolve a long-running row over jobs and conditions. The Rail, Maritime and Transport workers’ union said around 1,800 of its members are involved in the dispute, including train crew and a small number of drivers. General secretary Mick Cash said: “RMT will not sit back while nearly 200 members’ jobs are under threat and while conditions and safety are put at risk by a…

Authorities said heavy rain caused some disruption to voting as Hurricane Matthew passed over the Caribbean The accord, which had been negotiated in Havana, Cuba, called for the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) to disarm in six months and convert into a political group with…
Reading James 4:6, Pastor Chris announces a special blessing of increased grace across the BLW Nation! Throughout the BLW Nation, there is a sound of rejoicing as the brethren are launched into a season of “more grace” as James 4:6 unravels! “There is the general grace, and there is the personal grace that God gives for what He called you to do,” Pastor said, expounding on the teachings of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:7 and 1 Corinthians 3:10. With references to other scriptures, the man of God brought the global congregation to a consciousness of grace as the requirement…
Europe’s Rosetta probe has ended its mission to Comet 67P by crash-landing on to the icy object’s surface. Mission control in Darmstadt, Germany, was able to confirm the impact had occurred when radio contact to the ageing spacecraft was lost abruptly. The assumption is that the probe would have been damaged beyond use. In the hours before the planned collision, Rosetta sent back a host of high-resolution pictures and other measurements of the icy dirt-ball. “I can announce full success of this historic descent of Rosetta towards Comet 67P,” said European Space Agency mission manager Patrick Martin. “Farewell Rosetta; you’ve…
Help to Buy has become the latest flagship policy of David Cameron and George Osborne to be dumped by Theresa May’s Government. The new Chancellor, Philip Hammond, has announced the scheme will be closed at the end of the year, though he insisted it was always due to finish then. It is the latest in a series of major policy U-turns since Mr Cameron left Downing Street in July and Mrs May sacked Mr Osborne as Chancellor in her first act as Prime Minister. The U-turns include: :: Ending the ban on new grammar schools :: Making immigration sustainable rather than…
Britain’s two biggest carmakers are demanding guarantees from the Government over the impact from Brexit on their businesses before they commit to future investment. Nissan, whose Sunderland’s car plant is Britain’s biggest, wants the UK to pledge compensation for any tax barriers that may be raised as a result of leaving the European Union. Boss Carlos Ghosn said it could not afford to “wait until the end of Brexit” for a deal. His counterpart at Jaguar Land Rover, Dr Ralf Speth, responded by saying his company would have to “realign its thinking” on investment if Nissan was to get any…
The number of drivers caught using a mobile phone behind the wheel has almost halved in four years, the BBC can reveal. In 2011-12, 178,000 people were stopped by police in the UK, compared to under 95,000 in 2015-16. Of the 43 police forces in the UK asked by the BBC, 37 gave figures for how many drivers had been caught using their phones while driving. The National Police Federation said the drop was due to fewer traffic officers. Police chiefs say officers can take different courses of action against offenders, including sending them on courses about the consequences of…
