A family of three who were driving to Sardinia for a holiday were reportedly among those killed in a bridge collapse in Genoa, Italy. A shop manager from Birmingham is the main suspect after a car was driven at cyclists and pedestrians in Parliament Square during Tuesday morning’s rush hour. Rail passengers will see the price of regulated fares go up by a maximum of 3.2% next year. July’s Retail Price Index (RPI) – the rate of inflation which is used to set ticket prices – was down on June’s 3.4% figure, the Office for National Statistics said. The pound fell below $1.27 against the US dollar for the first time since June last year.
