IRAN TRIED TO KILL OR KIDNAP JEWS IN BRITAIN – Iran has targeted “prominent Jewish individuals” in at least 15 attempts
Iran has targeted prominent Jewish individuals and dissidents in at least 15 plots to kill or kidnap people in the UK, a new parliamentary report has revealed.
The Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC), which oversees Britain’s spy agencies, warned of a sharp rise in physical threats from Iranian intelligence.
The report says Iran often uses criminal gangs—rather than its own agents—to carry out operations on UK soil.
MI5 confirmed these groups are sometimes “unexpected” and not directly tied to Tehran.
Committee chair Lord Beamish described Iran as a “persistent and unpredictable” threat to the UK and its nationals.
The report covers incidents from August 2021 to 2023, and does not include recent developments like Israel’s strikes on Iran’s leadership and nuclear facilities.
