POLAND WON’T HAND NORD STREAM SUSPECT – Prime Minister says extraditing suspect to Germany does not serve Poland’s national interests
Poland’s Prime Minister has stated that it is not in the country’s interest to extradite a suspect involved in the Nord Stream pipeline investigation to Germany.
The remarks come amid rising tensions over accountability for the sabotage of the undersea gas infrastructure.
Officials emphasised that national security and judicial considerations guide Poland’s stance. Berlin has reportedly requested the suspect’s extradition to face trial in Germany. Warsaw, however, insists that legal proceedings must remain under Polish jurisdiction.
Analysts say the decision could strain diplomatic relations between the two European allies. The government reaffirmed its commitment to cooperating on broader investigations while safeguarding Poland’s legal authority and national interests.
