TRUMP HOLDS FORCES NEAR IRAN – US keeps military in place as talks begin and pressure mounts on Iran deal
U.S. President Donald Trump says American military forces will remain in and around Iran until a final agreement is fully honoured.
In a statement, Trump confirmed that ships, aircraft and personnel will stay deployed, maintaining pressure despite recent moves toward diplomacy.
At the same time, the White House has announced a new round of talks, with JD Vance leading a negotiating team to Pakistan.
Senior figures including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are also part of the delegation.
Officials say discussions are ongoing at the highest levels, including with China, as Washington pushes for a broader agreement.
The developments signal a dual-track approach, maintaining military pressure while pursuing a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
