TRUMP’S PEACE PROPOSAL TO END GAZA WAR- Israeli PM Netanyahu supports Trump’s peace proposal to end war in Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu endorsed U.S. President Donald Trump”s proposal to end the war in Gaza, describing it as a critical step towards peace in the Middle East.
Netanyahu outlined the plan’s alignment with his government”s five principles for post-war Gaza, emphasizing the return of hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, the demilitarization of Gaza, and Israel”s continued security oversight. He also said Gaza would have a civilian administration “neither run by Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority.”
The Israeli leader added that further withdrawals could be linked to the extent of disarmament and demilitarization, but Israel would maintain a security perimeter indefinitely. Netanyahu warned that if Hamas rejected the plan, Israel would act independently to achieve its goals.
Netanyahu also expressed appreciation for Trump’s stance on the Palestinian Authority, saying it could play no role in Gaza without undergoing significant reforms. Instead, he proposed a path forward involving those committed to peace with Israel.
The prime minister also referenced the October 7 attacks on Israel and pledged to prevent future incidents.
