U.S READY TO BAIL OUT MILEI’S ARGENTINA – Argentina receives aid amid Peso crisis
U.S. President Donald Trump has pledged support for Argentina as the country grapples with a spiralling economic crisis.
Meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei, Trump said the U.S. would help, but did not believe a full financial bailout was needed.
The announcement came as the World Bank said it would accelerate $4 billion in investments for the Latin American nation.
The U.S. pledge spurred a rally in Argentina’s markets, with the peso strengthening by nearly 5% against the dollar.
However, residents in Buenos Aires expressed doubt that the move would bring benefits beyond the markets, even as one economist said the move could have a positive effect on the economy.
