WINS IN THE QUARTER FINALS OF THE BARCELONA OPEN – Tsitsipas and Rune through to quarters
Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced to the quarter finals of the Barcelona Open after defeating American Sebastain Korda in a closely fought two setter.
Greek Tsitsipas is a four-time finalist at the event and he qualified again for the last eight with a 7-6(4), 6-4 victory as he chases a maiden title in Catalonia. He will next face off with Frenchman Arthur Fils, who beat Spaniard Pedro Martinez in straight sets 6-3 6-2.
Denmark’s Holger Rune also advanced to the quarter finals after rallying from a set down to beat Argentine Sebastian Baez 4-6 6-1 6-2. Rune will now meet Norway’s Casper Ruud for a place in the semi finals.
