Britain’s Andy Murray edged out Czech Radek Stepanek in three sets in the second round of the Madrid Open on Tuesday (May 3).The world number two got off to a slow start, losing his first service game and eventually managing to win the set on a tie breaker.
The second set went to world number 34 Stepanek as Murray looked off form. But the Scot managed to find his rhythm once more in the final set to take the game 7-6 3-6 6-1.
Murray will either play Pablo Carreno Busta or Gilles Simon in the third round.
