The United Nations opened an international conference focused on Israeli-Palestinian peace in Geneva on Wednesday (June 29).
The two-day conference brings negotiators and academics back together after U.S. efforts to broker a two-state solution fell apart in 2014.
Speaking at the conference, Palestinian negotiator Nabil Shaath told delegates his people remained committed to a way forward.
Palestinian delegates say continuous Israeli settlement expansion in occupied territory has dimmed any prospect for the viable state they seek in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with a capital in Arab East Jerusalem.
