EU LEADERS SUMMIT IN PROGRESS- starmer says Illegal migration would be discussed to explore further options that can be taken
EU leaders arrived for the second day of a summit in Copenhagen today for the European Political Community. Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Illegal migration would be discussed to explore further options that can be taken.
The gathering of several heads of state and government and European Union leaders, will be the first opportunity for leaders of the EU’s 27 countries to debate a proposal to use Russian assets frozen in Europe to fund a loan of 140 billion euros to Ukraine.
European Union leaders backed plans yesterday to bolster the bloc’s defences against Russian drones as they met in Copenhagen days after airspace intrusions by unmanned aircraft rattled Denmark.
At the summit, the leaders are set to discuss proposals for four flagship defence projects including a “drone wall” – a network of sensors and weapons to detect, track and neutralise intruding unmanned aircraft.
