AERIAL FOOTAGE SHOWS WILDFIRE SPREADING – Drone footage showed a wildfire spreading onto a highway in Spain
Drone footage released by the Spanish Guardia Civil on Monday (July 27) showed a wildfire spreading onto a highway in Spain’s Sotillo de la Adrada municipality during the night from Sunday to Monday.
Emergency responders had to rush away from the flames as they were burning right by the road.
In central Spain, three separate wildfire fronts remain active in the mountains northwest of Madrid. Authorities estimate that a combined 77,000 hectares have burnt so far across the provinces of Madrid, Toledo and Avila. The one in Avila has been classified as the biggest wildfire in recent Spanish history.
