Requiring children wear masks does more harm than good, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya told The Epoch Times. Bhattacharya advised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis not to make children don face coverings. Bhattacharya is a professor of medicine at Stanford University. He’s a health economist by training. “I think about things from a cost-benefit point of view, you have to think about what the costs and benefits are of any policy to set before you make a recommendation,” Bhattacharya said on The Epoch Times’ “American Thought Leaders.” “In the case of masks, the evidence that children spread the disease even without a mask is that they’re much less efficient…
The parent company of the Daily Mail and Mail Online is suing Google for alleged anti-competitive behavior by manipulating search results and advertising auctions that cause harm to online publishers. The lawsuit, which was filed in a federal court in Manhattan, alleges that Google built a dominant position in the digital ad market and is using that market power to eliminate competition. It states that the technology behemoth now controls the tools used by publishers and advertisers to buy and sell online ad space. “Google represents that its publisher ad server, as a tool for publishers, maximizes the yield for publishers’ inventory. But Google operates…
The Supreme Court declined on April 19 to hear a lawsuit regarding a Pennsylvania voting dispute nearly six months after the Nov. 3, 2020, election. The court rejected an appeal from a Republican congressional candidate’s unsuccessful challenge of the state’s mail-in ballot initiatives, which is the final Nov. 3-related action to be dismissed related to Pennsylvania’s voting laws. In a two-line order (pdf), the Supreme Court wrote: “The petition for a writ of certiorari is granted. The judgment is vacated, and the case is remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit with instructions to dismiss the case as moot.” The decision…

Frank, also known as Frank Speech, is described to be a mix…

Queen Elizabeth bade farewell to Prince Philip at a funeral on Saturday that celebrated his seven decades of service and gave grandsons William and Harry the chance to talk in public for the first time since claims of racism threw the family into crisis. Prince Harry, who flew from the United States to attend the funeral, walked…
Twelve of Europe’s top football clubs launched a breakaway Super League on Sunday, launching what is certain to be a bitter battle for control of the game and its lucrative revenue. Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus are among the leading members of the new league but UEFA has threatened to ban them from domestic and international competition and vowed to fight the move. Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 on Saturday to book a place in next month’s FA Cup final thanks to a second-half goal by Hakim Ziyech that extended a remarkable turnaround since manager Thomas Tuchel took over as Blues coach in January. By contrast, City manager Pep Guardiola – who made eight changes to the side which beat Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in midweek – saw his dream of steering them to an unprecedented quadruple of titles come to an end. Eight-times FA Cup winners Chelsea face Leicester City or Southampton, who play their semi-final on Sunday, in the…
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a statewide stay-at-home order on April 1 last year, locking down the Sunshine State for 30 days amid global panic about the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus outbreak. Sitting in his office exactly one year later, he told The Epoch Times that the lockdowns were a “huge mistake,” including in his own state. “We wanted to mitigate the damage. Now, in hindsight, the 15 days to slow the spread and the 30—it didn’t work,” DeSantis said. “We shouldn’t have gone down that road.” Florida’s lockdown order was notably less strict than some of the stay-at-home measures imposed in other states. Recreational activities…
