The BLW Nation ushered into a glorious season of acknowledging God’s faithfulness. The man of God, Rev. (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome, announced the word of the Spirit for December 2016, declaring it ‘the Month of Thanksgiving’! Pastor Chris encouraged the global congregation to carefully plan their thanksgiving through the different avenues that will be made available in the churches throughout the month. “There’s a special offering of thanksgiving that you should give to the Lord,” Pastor Chris said, admonishing the brethren to make sure their thanksgiving to the Lord means something special to them.
US President-elect Donald Trump has asserted he won the popular vote on 8 November “if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally”. The Republican, who won the all-important electoral college count, offered no evidence to back his claim. It comes after the camp of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton said it would support a vote recount in Wisconsin initiated by a Green Party candidate. Mrs Clinton won about two million votes more than Mr Trump in the popular vote. However, Mr Trump surpassed the required 270 electoral votes to win the presidency. This was based on the state-by-state contests.…
The government is facing a legal battle over whether the UK stays inside the single market after it has left the EU, the BBC has learned. Lawyers say uncertainty over the UK’s European Economic Area membership means ministers could be stopped from taking Britain out of the single market. They will argue the UK will not leave the EEA automatically when it leaves the EU and Parliament should decide. But the government said EEA membership ends when the UK leaves the EU. The single market allows the tariff-free movement of goods, services, money and people within the EU. The EEA,…
Furnishings retailer Dunelm has agreed to buy baby goods specialist Kiddicare in a push to boost its online offering. Dunelm will acquire the baby goods retailer as part of an £8.5m deal for online shopping group Worldstores. It is the latest twist for Kiddicare, which was bought by supermarket chain Morrisons for £70m in 2011 before being sold for £2m just three years later. Morrisons also took a hefty writedown on the online seller of cots, car seats, push chairs and nappies. Kiddicare was bought by Worldstores from private equity owners in 2014, where it joined the group’s portfolio of…
Alexis Sanchez took charge in Arsenal’s win over Bournemouth and he’s quickly become their talisman… Arsene Wenger described Alexis Sanchez as “remarkable” after last week’s draw at Manchester United and, against Bournemouth on Sunday, he was once again the Gunners’ standout man. It’s becoming a familiar role. Sanchez has emerged as Arsenal’s talisman this season. The 27-year-old is the player his team-mates look to for inspiration and he relishes that position, providing a spark and a scoring touch to Arsenal’s play, as he did in their 3-1 win over the Cherries at the Emirates Stadium. He constantly demanded the ball…
Billionaire US President-elect Donald Trump has said he is not obliged to cut ties to his business empire when he takes office on 20 January. A Democratic senator is tabling a resolution calling on him to liquidate his assets to prove he does not intend to profit from the office of president. There is no legal requirement to liquidate assets but past US presidents have set aside their business dealings. Mr Trump also disowned far right activists who hailed his election win. “Alt-right” activists could be seen making Nazi salutes at a conference in Washington DC over the weekend, where…
Measures aimed at boosting workers’ income and increasing housebuilding are expected in Chancellor Philip Hammond’s Autumn Statement on Wednesday. The first major economic statement since the Brexit vote will also unveil forecasts which are expected to show higher borrowing and slower growth. Mr Hammond has warned of “turbulence” and “an unprecedented level of uncertainty” as the UK leaves the EU. Labour predicted he would fail to help people on low and middle incomes. The Autumn Statement takes place at about 12:30 GMT, after Prime Minister’s Questions in the Commons. Among the measures to be announced are: Reducing the rate at…
“You’re born of the Word of God and that makes you the Word of God in flesh. Therefore, keep Manifesting the Glory of God and Expressing His righteousness everywhere.” -Rev Chris Oyakhilome D.Sc., D.D (Rhapsody of Realities, 08 November 2016)
Donald Trump will become the 45th US president after a stunning victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton. The Republican nominee’s projected victory came down to a handful of key swing states, despite months of polling that favoured Mrs Clinton. The battlegrounds of Florida, Ohio and North Carolina cleared the way for his Brexit-style upset. Mr Trump’s victory in Wisconsin put him over the 270 out of 538 electoral college votes needed to win the White House. The US president-elect took to the stage at his victory rally in New York and said: “I just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She…
Gareth Southgate has brought Jack Wilshere back into the England squad for the matches against Scotland and Spain. Ahead of Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland, it will be the first time the Arsenal midfielder, currently on loan at Bournemouth, has been included in the squad since the Euro 2016 finals. Burnley’s Michael Keane retains his place while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and West Ham’s Michail Antonio miss out in a 25-man squad which will also stay together for a friendly against Spain on Tuesday, November 15. In an interview with FA TV, Southgate said: “The last few weeks we’ve been looking at as…
