ISRAEL BACKS TRUMP-BROKERED GAZA DEAL – Israeli cabinet approves first phase of Gaza truce and hostages exchange

Israel and Hamas agreed on Wednesday, October 8th, to the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, an agreement which would see Hamas release the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza while Israel pulls back its troops from parts of the territory.

The UK Prime Minister, speaking from India, praised the efforts of the US President for the ceasefire acceptance.

The accord, if fully implemented, would bring the two sides closer than any previous effort to halt a war that had evolved into a regional conflict, drawing in countries such as Iran, Yemen and Lebanon, deepened Israel’s international isolation and reshaped the Middle East.

The UK PM and an Israeli Analyst had this to say about the momentous nature of this announcement.
