MATTEL PARTNERS WITH OPENAI – Toymaker uses AI to turn product sketches into lifelike visuals
Toymaker Mattel is teaming up with OpenAI to test the company’s new AI video model, Sora 2. The announcement came from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman during the company’s Developer Day on Monday.
Altman said Mattel designers can now start with a simple sketch and use Sora 2 to turn early product ideas into realistic visuals that can be shared and refined faster than ever before.
The partnership is part of a wave of new developments from OpenAI — the company behind ChatGPT — which has led the modern AI boom since its launch three years ago.
Altman also unveiled ChatGPT-5 Pro and a new compact voice model, both designed to expand what developers can build using OpenAI’s technology.
