NATO CHIEF HOPES FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE- Mark Rutte says ‘This is a good day for peace and stability’
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte voiced his hope that the ceasefire in Gaza could inspire efforts toward ending the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Rutte, at a news conference in Slovenia, said he hoped that the peace and stability in the Middle East would help Europe to establish peace in the aftermath of the aggression of both Russia and Ukraine.
The ceasefire deal came two years after the October 7, 2023, cross-border Hamas assault that killed 1,200 people, with 251 taken hostage, the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
