PM TO CHAIR COBRA MEETING ON IRAN – PM to lead emergency Cobra talks as Iran war drives economic and energy concerns.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer will chair an emergency Cobra meeting to assess the economic impact of the Iran conflict.

Senior ministers are expected to focus on energy security and supply chains, as tensions in the Strait of Hormuz continue to disrupt global oil and gas flows.

The meeting follows talks at Downing Street with major business leaders, including executives from Shell, BP and Maersk, where Starmer stressed that tackling the crisis will require close cooperation between government and industry.

The disruption has already pushed up energy prices, adding to global economic uncertainty.

Meanwhile, Chancellor Rachel Reeves has been holding talks with G7 finance and energy ministers, alongside Andrew Bailey and Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, calling for a swift resolution to the crisis.

The government says it is working on a coordinated plan to manage the impact as tensions continue to rise.
