REFORM SURGE SHAKE UP UK POLITICS – Voter frustration fuels support in Scotland and Wales

Support for Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party is growing in parts of Scotland and Wales ahead of Thursday’s elections, as frustration over the economy and immigration reshapes the political landscape.

In towns like Peterhead in northeast Scotland and Bargoed in south Wales, some voters say years of economic decline and neglected industries have pushed them towards Reform’s promises to boost North Sea oil and gas and tighten border controls.

Polls suggest Reform could make major gains in both nations, challenging the dominance of Labour, the Conservatives, the John Swinney-led SNP and Plaid Cymru.

But the party continues to face criticism over candidate vetting, after several hopefuls stepped down following allegations involving racist comments and offensive online posts. Critics say Reform risks deepening divisions, while supporters argue it reflects growing disillusionment with Britain’s traditional political parties.
