TRUMP RESPONDS TO IRAN CONFLICT WARNINGS – U.S. and Israeli military leaders meet amid regional tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump addressed warnings from Iran’s Supreme Leader about the risk of a wider regional conflict, saying the United States remained prepared but hopeful for a diplomatic solution.

Speaking before attending a wedding at his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump pointed to the strong U.S. military presence in the region, saying Washington had its “biggest, most powerful ships” positioned nearby and adding that he hoped a deal could still be reached.

His comments came as senior U.S. and Israeli military officials held a closed-door meeting at the Pentagon on Friday, amid rising tensions with Tehran. According to U.S. officials, the talks involved the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Israel’s chief of staff, though details were not disclosed.

The meeting followed U.S. moves to strengthen naval forces and air defences in the Middle East after Iran warned that a U.S. attack could trigger a broader conflict.

On Sunday, Israel’s defence minister also met with the country’s military chief to review regional security and assess operational readiness.
