U.S STRIKES IRGC TARGETS IN IRAN – Washington warns Tehran of further action after attacks near Strait of Hormuz

US forces have launched fresh strikes against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets in Iran, marking a renewed escalation between Washington and Tehran.

US Central Command said the strikes targeted air-defence sites, radar systems, maritime assets, mine-laying capabilities and communications facilities near the Strait of Hormuz. Washington said the operation followed attempted attacks by the IRGC on commercial shipping and US personnel in the region.

President Donald Trump warned Iran it would face an even stronger response if it retaliates. In a post on Truth Social, he described the strikes as “large and powerful” and threatened that a further operation could cause severe damage to the Islamic Republic.

Iran’s IRGC says it has since launched ballistic missile and drone strikes against US assets in the region, including bases in Jordan and Bahrain. Tehran says the attacks were retaliation for US strikes in southern Iran, which it says killed at least five people and wounded more than 50.
