UK FOREIGN MINISTER COOPER MEETS CHINA’S WANG YI IN BEIJING – Country leaders are pledging greater cooperation on trade and tech 

UK Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing, shortly after arriving in the city.

Cooper will also meet with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, before travelling to the southern tech hub of Shenzhen for a programme focussed on science and technology a day later, the government said.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Chinese leader Xi Jinping hailed a reset in ties during the British leader’s visit to China in January, pledging greater cooperation on trade, investment and technology to the mutual benefit of both countries.
