Britain has seen a gradual terrorist threat for some time, the head of counter-terrorism policing said on Thursday (April 30) after the country’s threat level was raised to “severe,” including heightened risks facing Jewish and Israeli targets.
Laurence Taylor, the head of counter terrorism policing, said authorities were working against an unpredictable global situation with consequences closer to home, including physical threats by state-linked actors.
“We are seeing an elevated threat to Jewish and Israeli individuals and institutions in the UK,” he added.
