UK TO HOST 3 NEW BOLLYWOOD PRODUCTIONS – Starmer announces major film partnership during India visit
Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that three major Bollywood films will be made in Britain from next year — a move expected to create around 3,000 jobs.
Speaking during a visit to India on Wednesday, Starmer toured Yash Raj Studios, one of India’s biggest film production houses, which will resume filming in the UK after an eight-year break.
The Prime Minister is due to meet his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, on Thursday for bilateral talks focused on ratifying the UK-India free trade deal — signed in July to cut tariffs and open new market opportunities across industries.
The agreement, three years in the making, is expected to take effect within the next year, further strengthening trade and cultural ties between the two nations.
