ZELENSKIY PRAISES TALKS ON US SECURITY GUARANTEES – Ukraine leader says U.S. signals readiness to back Kyiv
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he was appreciative of U.S. support for security guarantees after he met with President Donald Trump and European leaders at the White House.
Trump told Zelenskiy that the U.S. would help guarantee Ukraine’s security in any deal to end Russia’s war there, though the extent of any assistance was not immediately clear.
Zelenskiy said in a post on social media that “We appreciate the important signal from the United States regarding its readiness to support and be part of these guarantees.”
Zelenskiy also thanked the support from European allies, praising the summit as a step to “real peace” and calling it a “demonstration of genuine unity between Europe and the United States.”
