Distinguished African leaders spur young Africans to unite and create a free, fair, enviable, and great continent for all. The Global New Year’s Eve Service with Pastor Chris featured a special segment which is the Future Africa Leaders Awards 2021 (FALA). In its 9th edition, the distinct ceremony was in honor of outstanding young Africans who have displayed unprecedented levels of ingenuity and devotion towards improving the socio-economic state of their respective nations and the continent as a whole. This year ten nominees from thousands of entries made the final list but one will eventually emerge as the Star Prize…
“Our clouds are gathering around the world and from these clouds would rain righteousness and salvation on the earth” — Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The just-concluded January Global Communion service was filled with deep insights as the man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome took time to expound the message of the year; The Year of the Gathering Clouds. “We are clouds with water unlike the ungodly,” he remarked as he dissected the year’s theme and its essence. In his profound exposé, Pastor Chris explained that every child of God is a cloud and tree of righteousness carrying rivers of living…
About half the Omicron cases in a major hospital system in Texas have been among the vaccinated, according to a new study funded in part by the U.S. government. Researchers with Houston Methodist Hospital and other institutions performed genome sequencing of patients with COVID-19 in the Houston area and identified 862 people with symptoms whose infections were caused by Omicron, a variant of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, or SARS-CoV-2. The infections were recorded from late November 2021 to Dec. 18, 2021. Of the patients, 430 met the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) definition of a breakthrough case, or a COVID-19 case that…
Antonio Conte says he has nothing to prove to anyone at Chelsea as he prepares for a first return to Stamford Bridge since his sacking in 2018. The manager goes back with Tottenham on Wednesday night for the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg and it is sure to be emotional, given the relationships he made during his two seasons in west London. Conte won the Premier League in his first campaign, seeing off the challenge of Spurs – then managed by Mauricio Pochettino – and he followed it up with an FA Cup triumph in his second season, his team beating Manchester United in the…
A federal court has granted a preliminary injunction to a group of 35 Navy Special Warfare servicemembers—among them 26 Navy SEALs—who sued the Biden administration for denying them religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The preliminary injunction, issued by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, stops the Department of Defense from taking any actions against the group for refusing the jab while litigation plays out. Non-profit law firm First Liberty Institute had filed the lawsuit and motion for preliminary injunction on behalf of the Navy servicemembers on Nov. 9, 2021. “The Navy servicemembers in this case seek to…
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been sued by the Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN), which claims the agency is improperly withholding COVID-19 v-safe data from the American public. In a statement on Dec. 29, the non-profit group said it had filed a lawsuit (pdf) against the public health agency and the United States Department of Health and Human Services to force it to produce de-identified post-licensure safety data for the COVID-19 vaccines in the CDC’s v-safe system, to the public. As per the CDC, v-safe is an “active surveillance program to monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines during the period when the vaccines are authorized for use…
A huge number of people in England are not turning up for their Covid vaccine appointments, health leaders have said, saying as many as 40% of bookings are missed. The revelation comes as the government claimed to have met its coronavirus booster jabs target, and that every adult in England had been offered a top-up shot. The NHS Confederation said it was “encouraging” to see people coming forward and getting their Covid-19 jabs but that it was receiving reports that some sites were only a third full. People have been urged to get the booster jab to tackle a growing number…
Energy regulator Ofgem has laid out plans to ease bills which could treble to more than £2,000 a year in a new move to combat soaring gas prices. Fears of runaway household bills in the new year have been mounting since rising gas prices began bankrupting suppliers in September. Since then, they have rocketed from 54p per therm of gas to a staggering £4.50, forcing as many as 26 suppliers out of business. Households are expected to see a severe hike in the cost of their energy in April as suppliers are due to increase prices in line with soaring…
Only a quarter of the government officials responsible for cancelling HS2 to Yorkshire and downgrading plans for Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR) actually live in the north of England and rely on the region’s sub-par trains, the Guardian has learned. Of the 24 officials in the Department for Transport (DfT) responsible for writing the Integrated Rail Plan (IRP), just six live in the north, the DfT admitted in response to a freedom of information (FoI) request. The government was accused of “betraying” the north in November, when the long-awaited IRP ignored recommendations from Transport for the North, a statutory body set up to advise the government on…
Ralf Rangnick has revealed he warned his players about their body language following Monday’s insipid draw at Newcastle and was satisfied with the response as Manchester United saw off Burnley 3-1. United drew criticism for visible shows of petulance and a lack of togetherness during the 1-1 result at St James’ Park. The interim manager was clear this had to stop. “In team sports it is always important you are convinced about what you are doing,” said Rangnick. “At Newcastle it was a difficult game for us, we were 1-0 down after seven minutes. They did well, we didn’t play well, especially…
