A leaked Zoom conference reveals a doctor questioning how to increase the count of COVID-19 patient numbers on the hospital’s dashboard report. The media outlet National File said it obtained the recording from an “internal source” at the Novant Health System that includes New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. National File posted the video on its Twitter feed on Sept. 10. National File and other local media outlets that reported on the leak identified the people in the video as Mary Kathryn Rudyk, a physician at the medical center, who is asking Carolyn Fisher, the hospital’s director of marketing, how to inflate…
With about 10 minutes to go at the Wankdorf Stadion, there was sudden uproar on the Manchester United bench. The referee, François Letexier, had failed to spot a foul on Paul Pogba and on the touchline Ole Gunnar Solskjær was joined by Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo, wildly gesticulating with all the righteous indignation of men who had put their 50p on the edge of the pool table and were now watching somebody else rack up the balls. If ever there were a fitting motif for United’s surprise 2-1 defeat by Young Boys, perhaps this was it: United’s manager and perhaps their…
A federal judge on Tuesday granted an emergency injunction blocking the state of New York from enforcing a new CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus vaccine mandate for healthcare workers. Seventeen medical health professionals had asked the court to enjoin enforcement of New York’s mandate that then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Aug. 16. The mandate required staff at hospitals and long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, adult care facilities, and other congregate care settings, be vaccinated for COVID-19 to continue to be employed. The plaintiffs, including doctors, nurses, a medical technician, and a physician’s liaison, were facing termination, loss of hospital admitting privileges, and the destruction of…
A CABINET reshuffle is due to take place imminently. Here’s what Express.co.uk knows so far. Boris Johnson is reportedly preparing for a shake-up of his top team following Prime Minister’s Questions today. A number of Cabinet ministers could be on the chopping block in the coming days as the Prime Minister dramatically rearranges his front bench after a number of Government scandals throughout the coronavirus pandemic. So who’s at risk of losing their job and who is likely to be promoted? According to Whitehall officials, a number of Cabinet ministers feel unsafe in their positions. Last week officials rushed to prepare…
Local governments that impose COVID-19 vaccine mandates will be fined thousands of dollars, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Monday. The mandates violate a state law, Senate Bill 2006, passed earlier this year that says a government cannot require people to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, commonly known as vaccine passports, to enter government buildings. A Florida Department of Health rule enforcing the law is set to take effect on Sept. 16. Violations of the law will result in the imposition of a $5,000 fine per person, the rule states. Despite the law, governments in Orange and Leon counties and Gainesville have imposed vaccine…
Plans to make pensioners pay National Insurance for the first time has set a dangerous precedent and the levy could rise in future, a top tax expert has warned. It paves the way for Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak to increase the NI charge on pensioner earnings to 12 percent. The new levy will come into force from April 2023 and has destroyed the principle that pensioners do not pay National Insurance (NI). Initially, it will be set at just 1.25 percent of any income they earn after State Pension age, but history shows that once introduced, taxes have a…
A group of nearly 90 Washington state troopers, firefighters, and other employees filed a lawsuit on Sept. 10 against Gov. Jay Inslee (D). The plaintiffs claim that by issuing a vaccine mandate on Aug. 9, Insleey exceeded the authority of his office and violated the rights of state workers guaranteed by the state’s constitution. “These requirements are legal, and we look forward to responding in court, where to date no challenge to the governor’s use of his emergency powers has been successful,” Inslee spokesman Mike Faulk wrote in an email to The Epoch Times. “His use of this authority is appropriate given the extraordinary…
SAJID JAVID has come under fire in the House of Commons today for announcing another change to face mask guidance. Speaking in the House of Commons today, Sajid Javid has revealed the details of the Government’s winter plan to manage the pandemic. Mr Javid says the government has created a “plan B” in case things get worse in winter. The plan involves the possible “legal mandating for face coverings in certain settings” and working from home guidance being reinstated. “Any responsible government must prepare for all eventualities,” he tells MPs – some of whom make clear their disapproval of the…
A civil service boss has suggested some government offices in Whitehall could shut because of a permanent shift to more working from home. Cabinet Office Permanent Secretary Alex Chisholm said more civil servants are now able to work ‘flexibly’ – both from home and in the office – as a result of changes made during the Covid pandemic. The Chief Operating Officer for the Civil Service said in-person meetings are ‘not necessary now to anything like the same extent’ as before the coronavirus crisis. He pointed out that Whitehall is ‘expensive London real estate’ and there are ‘definitely some big opportunities there’. The mandarin’s remarks…
Thousands of people took to the streets in the Netherlands and Turkey over the past weekend to rally against COVID-19 mandates, with Dutch organizers claiming that as many as 150,000 took to the streets. The thousands of people who protested Saturday included musicians and DJs, saying that government restrictions on nightclubs and music venues should be rescinded. The movement, called “Unmute Us,” held protests in Amsterdam and other major cities. “We need to stand up for the events industry, which has been shut down for a year and a half,” a website from the group says, according to a translation. The first Unmute Us demonstrations were…
