REFORM UK TARGETS SCOTLAND AND WALES – Farage expands campaign as party looks beyond England

Nigel Farage has signalled a major expansion of Reform UK’s political ambitions, setting his sights on Scotland and Wales as the party looks to build support beyond England.

Farage said the next phase of campaigning would focus on challenging what he described as “political complacency” across the devolved nations, where Labour, the Conservatives and nationalist parties have traditionally dominated.  Reform UK, which has gained traction in parts of England in recent elections, is now positioning itself as a UK-wide alternative on issues including immigration, taxation and energy policy.

Party figures say they plan to field more candidates and strengthen local organisation ahead of upcoming elections, aiming to capitalise on voter dissatisfaction with mainstream parties. However, analysts caution that breaking through in Scotland and Wales may prove difficult, given the strength of established parties and the prominence of constitutional issues, particularly around devolution and independence.

Critics have also questioned whether Reform UK’s policy platform will resonate with voters outside England, where political priorities can differ significantly.

Despite this, Farage insists the party’s message has national appeal, arguing that voters across the UK are looking for a new political direction as the next election cycle approaches.
