STARMER DEPARTS NO. 10 DOWNING STREET – Starmer says ‘I’ll go with a  smile’

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has left Downing Street for the final time after two years in office, bringing his premiership to an end.

Sir Keir travelled to Buckingham Palace to formally tender his resignation to the King, marking the final step in the transfer of power.

His departure follows Labour’s leadership contest, which saw Andy Burnham confirmed as the party’s new leader.

During his time in office, Sir Keir secured a series of international trade agreements, maintained Britain’s support for Ukraine and led Labour through a period of economic and political challenges. As he leaves Number 10, attention now turns to the country’s next chapter under Andy Burnham’s leadership.
