STARMER IN GULF FOR KEY TALKS – PM meets leaders as efforts continue to reopen Strait of Hormuz after ceasefire

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has arrived in Abu Dhabi as part of a diplomatic visit to the Gulf.

The trip comes as efforts continue to stabilise the region following the U.S.-Iran ceasefire, with a focus on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil and gas supplies.

Starmer says there is still significant work to be done to restore full access to the waterway, which has been heavily disrupted by the conflict.

He is expected to hold talks with regional leaders, as well as continue discussions with international allies on securing energy flows.

The visit follows criticism from Donald Trump over the UK’s decision not to support recent U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, highlighting ongoing divisions among Western partners
