US, INDIA SIGN CRITICAL MINERALS PACT! – Agreement deepens cooperation on rare earth mining, processing and recycling

The United States and India on Tuesday (May 26) signed a framework to strengthen cooperation on critical minerals and rare earth supply chains, following broader discussions among Quad partners.

Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said the agreement would deepen collaboration across mining, processing and recycling, helping to build more resilient and diversified supply networks.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said both countries share an interest in reducing reliance on single‑source suppliers and safeguarding access to key materials.

The signing ceremony followed a meeting and joint statement between the Quad group of countries – including Australia and Japan.

The group has agreed to launch an initiative on Indo-Pacific Energy Security and a critical minerals framework, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said after a meeting of the group’s foreign ministers on Tuesday.
