BADENOCK SAYS UKRAINE IS FIGHTING A PROXY WAR ON BEHALF OF THE WEST – Prime Minister Starmer Calls Out Opposition Over Russia Comment
Sir Keir Starmer noted Kemi Badenoch’s assertion on Sky’s Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips that “Israel is fighting a proxy war on behalf of the UK, just like Ukraine is on behalf of Western Europe against Russia”, in PMQs this afternoon.
“There’s only one leader who’s been praised this week by the Russian embassy,” the PM said. “And if she carries on echoing Kremlin talking points like this, UK Reform are going to be sending her an application form for membership.”
The Tory leader retorted and said that Starmer needs to “look in his folder” to find out what he believes in.
The PM returned to his earlier point about Badenoch’s comments and read out the Russian embassy’s endorsement of her remarks. “She asks me what I believe in – I believe in standing by Ukraine and calling out Russia as the aggressor,” he added.
