CHRISTIAN WOMAN OVERTURNS ASYLUM DECISION – She fled Islamic persecution & won right to stay, despite Home Office pushback
A Christian woman who fled religious persecution has won the right to stay in the UK after a judge overturned a Home Office decision that denied her asylum.
The woman, known as ‘Maria’ for security reasons, escaped with her family after facing pressure to convert to Islam in her home country. She was forced to take a Muslim name, told to leave her husband, and threatened with having her daughter declared a Muslim.
After resisting, both she and her daughter were targeted in attempted abductions, prompting the family to flee to the UK.
Her initial asylum claim was rejected, with the Home Office calling her story “too incredible.” But a judge has now ruled in her favour, granting her protection.
The Christian Legal Centre, which supported her case, says the decision is a vital win for religious freedom.
