JOHNSON URGES STUDENTS TO DEFEND FAITH – Boris Johnson calls Liberty students ‘next generation of Charlie Kirks’

Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on students at Liberty University to stand up for freedom of speech and faith, urging them to become what he called “the next generation of Charlie Kirks.”

Speaking before more than 16,000 students at the Christian university’s convocation on Wednesday, Johnson praised Liberty as a “bastion of freedom” and warned that freedom of thought, conscience, and religion are “under threat in the world today.”

His remarks came as the nation marked what would have been activist Charlie Kirk’s 32nd birthday today, October 15. Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot last month while speaking at Utah Valley University.

Reflecting on his own Christian roots, Johnson described himself as “a very, very bad Christian” but said Christianity remains “a superb ethical system.”

He closed by urging young people to defend the freedoms once championed by Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Liberty University founder Jerry Falwell.
