LAST SURVIVING U.S. HOSTAGE TO BE FREED FROM HAMAS TERRORISTS – President Trump says the anticipated release could come as early as this morning
U.S President Donald Trump has announced that the last surviving U.S. hostage being held by Hamas terrorists, Edan Alexander, who has been in captivity since October 2023, will soon be reunited with his family.
President Donald Trump, confirming the information via a post on Truth Social on Sunday, said he was “grateful to all those involved”. Trump stated that this was a step taken in good faith towards the United States and the efforts of the mediators — Qatar and Egypt — to put an end to the very brutal war and return all living hostages to their loved ones.
Israel was informed a day earlier of Hamas’ decision to release Alexander, the last surviving U.S. hostage, as a goodwill gesture towards President Trump after four-way talks between Hamas, the United States, Egypt and Qatar.
The release, which could come as early as Monday, could open the way to freeing the rest of the 59 hostages still held in Gaza.
