LONDON SOUTHEND AIRPORT CLOSES AFTER PLANE CRASH- 4 deceased have been confirmed from the crash
A small plane crashed at London Southend airport on Sunday, and four people are reported to have died from the plane crash.
The Beechcraft B200 aircraft crashed at about 4pm, soon after taking off from the airport in Essex. The airport has been closed down till further notice, with dozens of flights cancelled or rescheduled, as the Air Accidents Investigation Branch confirmed it had started an inquiry into the crash.
The cause of the crash is not yet known and it is unclear how many people were onboard. According to the flight-tracking service Flightradar24, the plane took off at 3.48pm and was bound for Lelystad, a city in the Netherlands.
The incident has been confirmed by the Labour MP for Southend West and Leigh in Essex, David Burton-Sampson. The Labour MP stated that ‘our thoughts are with the emergency services who are dealing with this incident right now, and of course those who have been impacted’.
