In a speech, Macron praised India’s innovation capacity, pointing to its population and investment in education. “You have the demographic dividend,” he said, noting India produces more than a million engineers each year and stands “at the forefront of international innovation”.
Modi said cooperation between India and France was key to addressing global challenges saying “I would like to express my gratitude to my friend, President Macron,” he said, adding the initiative marked “a major step in that direction”.
France and India have strengthened ties in recent years, particularly in defence, space and technology, as both countries seek closer strategic partnership.
