PRINCESS OF WALES VISITS ITALY – Kate focuses on early childhood education
Catherine, Princess of Wales has received a warm welcome in northern Italy during her first official overseas visit since undergoing cancer treatment.
The Princess is spending two days in the city of Reggio Emilia, which is internationally known for its pioneering approach to early childhood education.
Her visit focuses on the “Reggio Emilia approach,” an educational philosophy that places relationships, creativity and community at the centre of child development — a key theme of the Princess’s public work.
Hundreds of well-wishers gathered in the city’s main square to greet Kate, who is expected to tour public pre-schools designed around collaborative learning spaces that encourage children to explore through art, sound and play.
