RUSSIA LAUNCHES MULTIPLE ATTACKS, WHILE UKRAINE HITS CRIMEAN BRIDGE – Ukrainian operatives prepared for the demolition of the bridge’s pillars over a period of several months

Ukraine’s SBU says its operatives spent months preparing the latest attack on the Crimean Bridge. The first blast, using 1,100 kilograms of explosives, was detonated early Tuesday, damaging the bridge’s underwater pillars. No civilian casualties were reported.

SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk oversaw the operation.

Later that day, Russia’s FSB said it detained a Ukrainian agent in Crimea accused of building an IED for sabotage.

The bridge was briefly closed twice, once after a Ukrainian drone was shot down. The second closure’s cause remains unclear. Traffic has since resumed.

Ukraine previously targeted the bridge in 2022 and 2023.

Meanwhile, Russian and Ukrainian officials met in Istanbul for a second round of peace talks. Russia proposed a 30-day ceasefire and a roadmap to a peace treaty.

Ukraine says it will review the document and respond within a week.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov downplayed expectations of a breakthrough, saying any top-level meeting must follow technical agreements.
