SPAIN BANS SMOKING IN OUTDOOR VENUES – Government Moves To Ban Smoking On Beaches And Terraces Nationwide

Spain has introduced new legislation banning smoking at outdoor venues, including beaches, bar terraces, bus stops, and stadiums.

Lawmakers say the move aims to protect public health and reduce second-hand smoke exposure.

The bill is expected to pass parliament this week amid broad public support. Smoking fines will be enforced by local authorities once the law comes into effect.

Businesses must display clear no-smoking signs in all affected areas. Health officials hope the ban will reduce respiratory illnesses and encourage smokers to quit. The law is part of a wider European push toward stricter anti-smoking measures.
