STARMER TO REPLACE THIRD TOP AIDE – Nin Pandit expected to leave role as Prime Minister’s personal private secretary

Sir Keir Starmer is replacing his top civil servant, marking the third senior departure in less than a year.

Nin Pandit, who has served as the Prime Minister’s principal private secretary for just ten months, is said to be leaving the role.

It’s one of the most powerful positions in government, acting as gatekeeper to the prime minister and shaping the flow of information and decisions in Downing Street.

Her exit follows the departure of chief of staff Sue Gray last October and former communications director Matthew Doyle in March.

It comes as the government faces growing criticism over its handling of the migrant crisis and ongoing questions about its direction.

Pandit’s departure is fuelling speculation that the prime minister is once again trying to reset his top team.

He is also expected to reshuffle his junior ministers when parliament returns in September.
