TECH TYCOON ELON MUSK LEAVES GOVERNMENT ROLE- Billionaire was advisor to President Donald Trump & led Department of Government Efficiency

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced he’s stepping down from his role as an adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The move comes just four months after Musk took charge of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency — or DOGE — a controversial agency created to cut federal spending through widespread job reductions.

He leaves his role as head of the new Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, just four months after taking the job. The agency was created to cut federal spending through major job cuts.

Musk says he’ll now focus on Tesla and SpaceX. The move comes after Tesla reported a 13% drop in global sales — its worst since 2022 — and faced protests tied to Musk’s role in government.

In a post on X, Musk thanked Trump and said the DOGE mission would continue to grow.

House Speaker Mike Johnson praised Musk’s efforts and promised more spending cuts.

But Musk criticised Trump’s latest bill, calling it a “massive spending plan” that works against DOGE. Trump defended the bill, saying he’s happy with most of it.

The South African-born tech tycoon had been designated as a “special government employee” – allowing him to work a federal job for 130 days each year.
